I knew when I saw Focus T25 by Shaun T coming out there would be confusion. I decided to do a Focus T25 Vs. Insanity article because of all the confusion there is out there.

I have been waiting for Focus T25 to come out for a long time, so I had a good idea of what it was about. But people are confused. People think it’s an Insanity sequel or related to Insanity in some way. It’s not, they are both made by Shaun T, but that’s about it.

Focus T25 has been designed to be a workout that saves people time. Every workout in the entire series is only 25 minutes long, hence the name T25. It’s designed for all the people out there using “no time” as their excuse.

Today, I am going to put Focus T25 Vs Insanity to see which workout program by Shaun T is best for you! Everyone is a little different, so understanding the differences in these workout programs will make it MUCH easier for you to decide!

If you are looking for the best way to build muscle and burn fat at the same time, you’re searching for the wrong programs. If you are just looking to blast some fat off, these are for you. If you are interested in combining fat loss with muscle gain, then P90X is the workout for you. Doesn’t matter if your male or female, P90X is a great combination of both. Let’s Take A Look At The Workouts

Obviously one of the biggest differences and probably the thing people care about most is how the Focus T25 and Insanity workouts differ.  If you want more specific info on any of the workouts, check out the reviews that I showed you above. This is going to be a higher level overview.

Insanity - Workouts are hard. Even the beginning workouts. You do about a 15 minute “warm up” that could be a workout video on it’s own. Then you stretch for about 6 minutes, then you get after it. The first 30 days of workouts average about 40 minutes in length. When you’re done with these workouts, you know you accomplished something. You will be covered in sweat and tired as heck. The workouts consist of upper and lower body weight exercises. You will be doing squats, jumps, pushups, burpees and about everything in between. You do high level bursts of interval workouts, then take small 30 seconds rests. The first week is really hard, but you notice yourself getting better at the workouts and in better shape. After 3 weeks, you start to feel like a pro!

what comes with focus t25

Focus T25- Focus T25 was definitely made for the more novice individual in mind. Shaun T takes more time in this program to get people acclimated with the workouts. The first phase or the Alpha phase, which is 5 weeks, he will do a lot of progressions. You will do about 3 different moves that progress to the harder version of those moves.  Let me give you an example.

Switch kicks are where you kick in the air as your leg comes down you kick up again with your other leg. These are hard to do consecutively. Sort of like the Crane kick on karate kid. In Insanity, he just goes right into those, no foundation. In Focus T25, you will start with low alternating kicks, no jump. Then you will move to low alternating kicks with a jump, then you move to low switch kicks, ending the progression with actual switch kicks. He does most of his moves in this format for the Alpha phase of Focus T25. One thing I like about this format is for my knees. I have bad knees, I have noticed that progressing into the workout has made it easier on them. They get lose before going right into a harder workout.  There is less of this in the Beta Phase, he assumes you have the base down and you just get after it. Making the Beta phase the same 25 minutes, but much harder!

Focus T25 Vs. Insanity Workouts Conclusion

If you have not workout for a long time and are very out of shape or over weight, I strongly suggest you start off with Focus T25. This workout is a little more easy going and shorter. If gives you the ability to grow into the program and workouts a little more than Insanity does.

If you are pretty athletic and just want to lose a few pounds then Insanity is right for you. Insanity is going to throw you into an intense longer workout. You’re going to be tired and you’re going to be sore. It’s easy to quit Insanity, which makes it a little harder. But if you stick with it, the results will be amazing!

Insanity Meal Plan – Insanity has a pretty good meal plan. It has lot’s of great foods that are going to help you get to your weight loss goal. If you follow the plan and the workout, you will see results. You get a lot of meal plans with a lot of different options. If I had once complaint, it would be some of the ingredients. They can be hard to find and are kind of  “exotic”. I still have a few of the ingredients for certain meals that I will probably never use for something else again. It was a little expensive at times too, getting everything at the store got a little crazy.

Focus T25 Nutrition Guide And Fast Track Meal Plan- You can tell Shaun T took feedback and fixed a lot of problems with the Insanity meal plan, and made an even better one for Focus T25. I’m not going to go into too much detail here, but the Focus T25 Nutrition guide is superior to Insanity. Insanity is more robust and has more options, but I prefer quality of quantity. Focus T25 also comes with a 5 day fast track meal plan. They show you exactly what to eat with which workout for the first 5 days to get you off to a good start. This is a neat feature that should help some that are willing to follow it exactly.

Insanity is a 60 day program that has you working out 6 days a week. If you want fast amazing results, Insanity is the workout for you. You’re going to be getting after it from day 1. It’s hardcore but the results you achieve from it will be beyond your expectations, especially in only 60 days.

Focus T25 is a little more reserved. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not easy. You’re gonna sweat and be very tired, but it works up to it a little more. Also, only workout for 25 minutes makes it easier to hit play. Sometimes I have to workout late. Knowing that the workout is only 25 minutes makes me not care as much as if the workout was 40-60 minutes. It definitely encourages you to hit play more. Also, with Focus T25 you have the option of doing 2 workouts, if you really want to. So if you want more of a challenge, you can easily do so.

Insanity is for people that are looking to blast fat quick and already have a small fitness base. Focus T25 is more designed for someone who has never been fit or has not been for a long time.

Before Focus T25 came out, if someone was wanting to lose weight, Insanity was always my first choice. It’s the best in that category, no matter who you are. But Focus T25 will give you a strong base before moving into a more difficult workout like Insanity. If you could do both, that would be ideal. Plan on an 18 week program using both of these and you will be in the best shape of your life!
